He pursued his education in Canada after earning his Electronics Engineer degree from Istanbul Technical University in 1973. He has been employed as a technical supervisor and Nuclear Instrumentation & Control Engineer at Ontario Hydro Nuclear Power Plants and the Canadian Atomic Energy Commission since 1975. After entering the financial industry and working for Friedberg Co. at the Toronto Futures Exchange, he obtained a CTM (Commodity Trading Manager) license from the Ontario Securities Commission in 1981. He then worked as a fund manager in the derivative markets of two brokerage houses (Nesbitt Thomson-Walvyn Stodgell Securities). He led TFMI as president and director between 1985 to 1989. (Toronto Futures Management Inc). When he returned to Turkey in 1993, he lectured on technical analysis, derivatives markets, and risk management. He also offered investing guidance to several banks and financial organizations. He has been offering risk management consulting to the education and real sector (Energy, Packaging, Agriculture) since 1999, in addition to making daily risk management remarks at BloombergHT on CNBC-e NTV.
