Associate Professor Serra Eren Sarolu attended Istanbul University's Faculty of Business Administration, Department of Business Administration in English in 1991 and graduated from this institution in 1995 after completing his secondary and high school education at TED Ankara College. He spent a brief stint as an investment counselor at Interbank A.Ş. From there till 1999, he was employed at Türk Henkel A.Ş. as a Controller in the Leather Chemicals Department. At Istanbul University's Faculty of Business Administration, Department of Finance, she began her master's program in 1998. She started working as an assistant in the finance division at the same time. With his thesis, "Company Mergers and Legal and Financial Analysis of Mergers: Akçansa Case," he earned his master's degree in 2001. She received approval for the PhD program at the Finance Department the same year. With his doctoral thesis, "Variability Models and Cross-sectional Analysis of Variability Models in the ISE Stock Market," she was awarded the title "doctor" in 2006. She won an award and had her PhD thesis turned into a book since hers was one of the top five theses in the doctoral competition held by the Economic Research Foundation.
Assoc. Dr. Serra Eren Sarıoğlu teaches “Business Finance”, “Financial Management” and “Capital Markets and Securities Management”, “Securities Management” and “Portfolio Management” courses at undergraduate and graduate levels at the Faculty of Business Administration at Istanbul University. Assoc. Dr. Serra Eren Sarıoğlu has national and international publications on topics such as "Effective Market Theory", "Anomalies", "Risk and Risk Modeling".
